By submitting your work to Trivium Magazine, you agree to the following terms with Trivium Magazine Company LLC (“Trivium”):

Rights

You retain full ownership of your piece. Submitting it to Trivium simply grants us a non-exclusive license to publish it in the print and digital versions of the magazine and across our digital platforms. Once your piece is accepted, you’re free to publish it elsewhere without needing our permission, with one condition: we ask that you please hold off on publishing it with a competing publication for 6 months after it runs in Trivium out of respect for our readers.

Withdrawal

Once you submit your piece for consideration, you have 15 days to withdraw it if you change your mind. After that 15-day window closes, the piece is considered locked in for publication if it is chosen to be published.

Editorial Discretion

Trivium reserves the right to decline a submission or pull an accepted piece from publication at any time, for reasons like editorial fit, space constraints, or quality control.

Catholic Identity

Trivium is a Catholic publication. All submissions are expected to align with the teachings and dogmas of the Catholic Church. Pieces that explicitly contradict Catholic teaching will not be considered for publication.

Compensation

Trivium submissions are considered voluntary. We’re not able to offer payment for submissions or publication at this time.

Promotion

You agree that Trivium may use your name and excerpts of your work to promote the magazine. This includes posts on social media, our website, and in newsletters.

AI Usage

Your submission must be entirely your own original writing. Content generated or substantially assisted by AI tools (including ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) is not permitted and will disqualify a submission. 

Responsibility for Your Submission

By submitting, you’re also confirming the piece isn’t under contract elsewhere and doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s rights.

If your work violates any of the above—for example, it turns out to be AI-generated, plagiarized, or infringes on someone else’s rights—and this results in a claim or cost to Trivium, you agree to be responsible for that cost.
